McFly star Danny Jones and his wife Georgia have confirmed that they’re expecting their first child together.
The couple broke the happy news to HELLO! magazine, where they revealed that the new arrival is due on January 18th, after they conceived at a festival in California earlier this year.
‘At first we were shocked when it happened as we’d been casually trying, but so many people have such a hard graft starting a family that we didn’t really expect it to happen quickly,’ Danny said of the pregnancy.
The couple have decided not to find out the gender of their baby ahead of the birth, although he added that he thinks they’re having a boy.
‘I’m going to be a mess at the birth – when I find out if we have a son or a daughter, when I meet him or her,’ the 31-year-old admitted. ‘I’d love to know but we’ve decided we want to have that big surprise.’
‘They are going to need a mop for our tears in the delivery room – we are going to be so emotional,’ Georgia, who is a former Miss England, agreed. ‘Even when we walked in for the first scan I started crying. All they’d said to us was hello.’
Danny married Georgia in 2014 after five years of dating. During the ceremony, he had six best men, including his McFly bandmates Tom Fletcher, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter, by his side.
He’s not the first member of the McFly line-up to have started a family – Tom and wife Giovanna now have two sons, Buzz and Buddy, whilst Harry and his wife Izzy have a daughter, Lola, and are currently expecting their second child.
‘It’s like our baby has three uncles waiting for him or her,’ Danny told HELLO!, adding that his friends would be giving him plenty of parenting advice in the months to come. ‘Tom and Harry are great dads.’
