Sons of Anarchy's David Labrava has issued an important warning to all parents after sadly revealing his 16-year-old son Tycho took his own life.

The American actor, who's known for playing Happy in the FX series Sons of Anarchy, took to Instagram to share the sad news of his son's passing in a heartbreaking post.

Alongside a few snaps of him and Tycho, the dad wrote: 'Never in a million tears would I think I would be posting this. This is my boy Tycho. He took his life a couple of days ago at 16 years old.

'He suffered from a depression we couldn't see because he was a happy young kid. Communicate with your loved ones, there might not be any signs. Cherish them🙏 I am broken 😭'.

Fans rushed to offer support to the star, with many commenting on the moving tribute to send their condolences to the family.

One said: 'So sorry for your loss! My heart goes out to you and your family at this sad time! 💜'

A second wrote: 'This is absolutely heartbreaking. My love goes out to you all. This should not be happening to the future of our nation. So many children hurting inside. Stay strong all rip x x x x'

While a third added: 'I cannot begin to understand your loss. However, I do understand the battle with depression. Sending you love during this difficult time.'

The family also set up a GoFundMe page in memory of Tycho, where they explain how he quietly suffered from depression and his last wish was to help a 'depression and bipolar organisation'.

The page reads: 'On May 5th, 2018 Tycho Spelis Chiusano decided to end his life. He was 16 years old. He quietly suffered from depression for years and didn't know how to ask for help.

'An amazing and beautiful soul, Tycho was extremely intelligent, athletic, loyal, and a sensitive friend. He was full of life, constantly smiling, and had a knack for making others laugh. Tycho loved his family and friends. This is how we will forever remember him! Never FORGET: Always be kind and have compassion for others. Never spread rumors and learn to communicate with each other."

'Tycho's last wish was "give all of my money to a depression and bipolar organisation"...so, that's exactly where it's going! Please join us in our fight to raise awareness of the signs of depression! We need to honor our friends because we never know what's hiding behind someone's smile. 100% of your donations will join Tycho's and go to a depression and bipolar organization.'
