Dwayne Johnson tells fans about 'scary' experience which saw his two-year-old daughter spend a night in ER

The actor praised the emergency services for their help before dishing out some parenting advice

Dwayne Johnson has opened up about a 'scary' experience which saw his young daughter rushed to hospital.

Although he declined to tell fans the reason why the two-year-old was admitted for medical attention at the UCLA Medical Center, the actor took to Instagram to reveal a few details about what happened.

'This past Saturday night something happened to me and my family that I would never want to happen to any of you guys out there, but of course, emergencies do happen,' he said during a video.

'We were up all night in the emergency room & we had something scary that happened with our little baby girl Jasmine. She's OK now, thank god!'

Dwayne concluded his video with an inspirational piece of parenting advice.

He continued: 'To all you mommies and daddies out there, when emergencies like this happen I would just highly recommend that you stay as calm and as focused as possible because our little babies . . . they pick up on what we're putting out, especially in times of stress.'

Sad to hear that Dwayne, his partner Lauren Hashian and little Jasmine had been through a tough time, many followers sent kind words to the family.

'One gracious dude 💪🏻 always a gut wrench when it's your own,' said one.

Another added: 'I truly resonate with the stress thing and staying calm.... I don't know how to stress it enough during times of emergency like that with the little one... tears fills my eyes as I listen to you speak... sending love, angels and faeries to you and your family.'

A third praised the Moana star for the way he addressed what seems to have been a terrifying situation.

'So glad lil one's okay! This kind of shout shows how humble and honest and REAL you are! We're all human and anything can happen! Stay strong and keep rocking 😘,' they gushed.

Dwayne and Lauren are currently preparing for the birth of their second child together, having announced they're expecting another girl in December 2017.
