Gaz Beadle’s girlfriend Emma McVey hits back after critics blame her pregnancy weight for her baby’s illness

Emma McVey, who welcomed her first child with Geordie Shore's Gaz Beadle in January, has hit out at critics who blame her pregnancy weight for her baby boy's illness.

The mum revealed on Instagram that they had to rush their baby boy Chester to hospital – the second time in two months – without revealing why.

However, some critics blamed the mum – who was often criticised during her pregnancy for looking skinny – for her son’s illness, which forced her to speak out.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘For all the sick people saying any of Chester’s illnesses are due to my weight through pregnancy…

The mum went on to explain that her baby boy is suffering from rotavirus, which is a common cause of diarrhoea and sickness in babies, and has nothing to do with her pregnancy.

‘He has picked up rotavirus. Yes, he’s had all the vaccines for it but there’s clearly a severe virus going around. My pregnancy has absolutely nothing to do with it.

‘The Leeds General Infirmary have been absolutely amazing and stopped him becoming dehydrated from it. Please think before being a mummy troll, before trolling at all’, she added.

‘I have and always will do everything for Chester.’

Fans of the mum were quick to offer their support, asking her if Chester is okay.

One fan wrote: ‘Hope your baby boy is ok? Nothing worse then your own baby being in hospital ❤️’.

A second said: ‘awww, poor Chester. Why is he is hospital? 😢😢😢 I hope he’s okay.’

Another wrote: ‘Just saw your story, I cant believe people are saying such disgusting things to you. People who have no brain cells, my mum was small like you when she had me and my 2 siblings, when she was full term she looked like she had just ate a good meal. Some people are just like that, small. Its clear to see Chester is a good healthy weight. I hope he picks up and is feeling better soon, I really dont miss that part of my daughter being small, the worry and stress when they were poorly. Sending love 💓’.
