Cheryl reveals she needed therapy after son’s birth and what she thinks of mum-shamers

‘I’ve lived on adrenaline and anxiety for so many years.’

Cheryl has revealed she started going to therapy after her son Bear was born to stop her anxiety from returning.

Cheryl welcomed her first child, Bear, to the world in May last year but split with his dad Liam Payne in July.

In a recent interview the mum-of-one declared that her dating life was over and she has now opened up about seeking therapy after Bear’s birth to deal with her anxiety.

Speaking to The Sunday Times’ Style magazine Cheryl revealed that for years she ‘lived on adrenaline and anxiety’ but that when she fell pregnant all of her worries went away.

In an effort to make sure she continued to feel strong and positive after Bear’s birth, she decided to take up therapy and said that it has really helped.

Cheryl explained: ‘I was so warm inside, and I found it amazing, [when she was pregnant] I guess because I’ve lived on adrenaline and anxiety for so many years. I didn’t want the anxiety to come back. I wanted to stay in that strength. And it really has been helping a lot.’

Cheryl also admitted that since she hasn’t given any interviews since Bear’s birth, she hasn’t experienced mum-shaming first-hand but that doesn’t mean she has nothing to say about them…

After admitting that Bear still sleeps in her bed Cheryl said that if anyone is bothered by her decision, they need to mind their own business.

She asserted: ‘I’m going to get mum-shamed, aren’t I? But yes, he does [sleep in her bed]. Best thing in the world. I know I’m making a rod for my own back. I am aware of that.’

Cheryl added: ‘Do what works for you, and the rest of you shut the f*** up, because it’s not your business, is it? I haven’t experienced it [mum-shaming], because I haven’t done an interview [since Bear was born], so I have no idea.

‘But I read about other people being mum-shamed and I think, get a life, deal with your own kids, why are you interfering in everyone else’s?’
