Allen Leech is expecting his first child with wife Jessica.
The Downton Abbey actor revealed the news when he stepped out on the red carpet with wife Jessica Blair Herman, who was sporting a growing baby bump.
The pair showcased Jessica’s blossoming bump on the red carpet earlier this week when they attended the premiere of the new Downton Abbey film in London’s Leicester Square.
The Ireland-born actor, who played Tom Branson throughout the ITV series and will be appearing in the new movie, confirmed the news to the Sun Online, revealing that his actress wife is five months pregnant.
Thanking the Sun for their well wishes, the 38-year-old said to the news outlet: ‘Thank you so much.
‘She is absolutely blooming. She is five months pregnant today. I’m nervous.’
He also made a comment about the upcoming Downton Abbey film, saying: And I hope the movie does well!’
The Downton Abbey actor, who also starred in last year’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Imitation Game, married actress wife Jessica earlier this year back in January.
The 32-year-old actress, who has previously starred in TV series American Crime Story and made appearances in Modern Family, New Girl and How I Met Your Mother, shared a series of sweet photos of the couple’s California nuptials on her Instagram feed back in January.
‘We got married last weekend!’ she captioned her gushing post. ‘There was magic in the air and rain in the sky and we were the happiest we have ever been. We were surrounded by an enormous amount of love that was truly palpable.’
Speaking of his wedding to the American actress, which took place in a Californian ranch, Allen told HELLO! magazine: ‘It ended up being something quite different. When you get married in California you expect sunshine, but a little bit of Ireland blew over on the day and we had some heavy rain,’ adding ‘everyone rallied round. The weather only made the day more epic’.
