The Duchess of Cambridge met with many families during her visit to RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey.

Kate met with a young boy called Dylan as she enjoyed a tour of the new permanent garden, who had his face painted like a tiger. When the Duchess approached him to have a conversation, it turned out to be quite a funny exchange!

According to Dylan’s mother Katie, Kate asked: 'Are you a tiger?' to which Dylan replied, 'No, it’s just face paint'. How sweet!

The Duchess of Cambridge also met 15-month-old Matilda, and was pictured playfully rubbing the child’s head whilst mother Sarah Griffiths held her in her arms.

She described the interaction with the Duchess of Cambridge as ‘overwhelming’ but ‘exciting’ - which we can definitely understand!

The garden at Wisley was inspired by previous gardens the Duchess of Cambridge has co-created with landscape architects Andree Davies and Adam White, alongside the Royal Horticultural Society.

The Duchess described this opportunity as an ‘amazing experience’, as she was able to create open spaces at both the Chelsea Flower Show and the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.

She said: ‘I am not as green fingered as many of you here, but I was passionate about creating a garden that inspired children and adults alike to get back to nature and reap the positive mental and physical health benefits that it can bring.

‘The experiences we gain during our earliest years influence who we become as people. They influence how we interact in school, in work and in society and, ultimately how we bring up our own children.’
