Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posted a new photo of royal baby Master Archie on Instagram to celebrate Meghan’s first US Mother’s Day.

The image captured Meghan holding her son’s tiny feet in the palm of her hand. The picture was shared on the couple’s official Instagram account on Sunday.

Alongside the adorable picture of baby Archie’s tiny toes was a hidden message in the background.

Meghan held baby Archie in front of purple forget-me-nots flowers, which were in fact Princess Diana’s favourite, to pay tribute to Prince Harry’s late mother who passed away when he was 12 -years-old.

Prince Harry also chose these special flowers for Meghan’s bridal bouquet in memory of his mother.

The image was captioned with heartfelt words which read: ‘Paying tribute to all mothers today, past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.

‘We honour and celebrate each and every one of you.’

The post continued: ‘Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe.

‘This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.

‘Quote from “lands” by @nayyirah.waheed:

the first place i ever lived.’

A few years ago, Harry opened up about his mother Diana during an interview.

‘I hope she’s looking down with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established I suppose.

‘I’m sure she’s longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother again.'

The Duke and Duchess welcomed their little bundle of joy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Monday May 6 at 5.26am at Frogmore Cottage.

In a brief interview Prince Harry said: ‘It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

‘How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.

‘We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.’

The happy couple shared the first images of baby Archie, in their first public moment as a family, last Wednesday on their Instagram page.
