Kate Middleton is usually the one taking pictures of George, Charlotte and Louis and the reason why might surprise you...
The Duchess is often the woman behind the lens when it comes to capturing cute snaps of her three children, and now an expert has explained why this is the case.
Gina Jones from Bumpkins, The Baby Show’s lead experts in baby photography, revealed that Kate’s decision to take pictures of her little ones could be because she is ‘resourceful with money’.
She told MailOnline: ‘It shows how modern Kate and William are by being more accessible and having a hands-on approach.
‘It also shows that they are resourceful with money as you often see Kate in high street fashion and sometimes repeating outfits and so by taking her own photos this again shows how she is savvy with money.’
Kate’s passion for photography is well known by royal fans, and the Duchess even received an honorary lifetime membership from Royal Photographic Society (RPS), in recognition of her ‘talent and enthusiasm’.
Dr Michael Pritchard, chief executive of the RPS, said: ‘The Duchess of Cambridge has had a long-standing interest in photography and its history.
‘She is latest in a long line of royal photographers and the society is pleased to recognise her talent and enthusiasm through honorary membership. We look forward to a continuing relationship with her.’
Some of the sweet royal moments Kate captured include the adorable picture of Charlotte giving her baby brother Louis a kiss, which was released to mark the princess’ birthday, as well as Prince George’s first day at nursery.
As well as her love for photography, there’s also another reason Kate is her kids’ personal photographer.
Both Kate and William are keen on protecting their children’s privacy and keeping their childhood as normal as possible, so by having their mum take pictures of them when there’s a special occasion, they’re ensuring the three little ones are not harassed by photographers.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter said at the time: ‘Nothing is a given, but in terms of managing to keep a good relationship with the British media, it’s in William’s and Kate’s interest to release photos.’
