Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcome fourth child

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have welcomed their fourth child.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and her rapper husband welcomed their fourth child via a surrogate.

The 38-year-old took to Twitter to announce the exciting news that the couple’s surrogate has given birth to a healthy baby boy, simply telling her 60.6 million followers, ‘He’s here and he’s perfect’.

Just minutes after sharing the news, Kim added, ‘He’s also Chicago’s twin lol I’m sure he will change a lot but now he looks just like her.’

The A-list pair revealed that they were expecting a baby via surrogate back in January after a source confirmed it to E! News.

This is the fourth baby for the TV star and her musician other half, who have been married since 2014.

The high-profile couple are already parents to five-year-old North, three-year-old Saint and one-year-old Chicago.

Kim carried her eldest two children herself and gave birth to them naturally, but after suffering from Pre-eclampsia and Hyperemesis Gravidarum the couple decided to use a surrogate for Chicago and newborn baby son.

Pre-eclampsia is a life-threatening condition that affects the placenta and results in abnormally high blood pressure. It has also affected other well-known faces including Beyoncé, Jessica Simpson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum, the same condition that famously affected Kate Middleton, as well as Amy Schumer and Helen Flanagan, is a severe and debilitating form of morning sickness that in the past has even led to mothers terminating their pregnancies.

In the past, Kim has opened up about how doctors told her it would be too dangerous to her health if she carried another child, after she nearly bled to death following the traumatic birth of son Saint.

‘After giving birth, your placenta is supposed to come out. But mine was stuck’, she told ELLE magazine.

‘That’s what women usually die from in childbirth – you haemorrhage and bleed to death and they can’t stop it.’

The mum-of-four then explained how the doctor had to put his ‘whole arm’ in and ‘scrape’ off the placenta.

‘To get it out – it’s so disgusting – the doctor had to stick his whole arm in me and scrape it off. It was the most painful,’ she said.

Congratulations to the whole family on their newest arrival!
