Mikey North, who plays Gary Windass in Coronation Street, is going to be a dad for the second time as his wife Rachael Isherwood is expecting.
The couple confirmed the lovely news to OK! Magazine, after three ‘horrendous’ months due to morning sickness.
Mikey and Rachael had sparked pregnancy rumours back in May, when a slight bump was visible at his Corrie pal Sam Aston’s wedding.
However, they’ve only now confirmed that they will indeed be welcoming a second child. Rachael told the publication: ‘The first three months were horrendous with morning sickness.
‘Well, sickness throughout the whole day. But, touch wood, since then everything has been fine. I didn’t have any sickness with Archie.’
Rachael, who had a very difficult childbirth experience with her first child, has admitted she’s feeling ‘apprehensive’ about giving birth again.
The mum lost 1.5 litres of blood after an episiotomy cut went through her vein. She said about the prospect of giving birth again: ‘[I feel] A little bit apprehensive, to be honest. But I feel more prepared because I know what contractions feel like and how bad it can be.
‘I’m not as naïve this time, I guess. What will be will be.’
Mikey added: ‘I remember Rach insisting: “I’m not having any pain relief,” and then about six hours in, she’s like: “Give me everything!”’.
The celeb couple are already parents to little Archie, who was born in November 2016.
At the time, they only announced they were expecting a month before the birth – in October – and kept the news of the birth a secret until February the next year.
Speaking to OK! about the birth at the time, Mikey said: ‘The labour lasted around 20 hours. But it was just constant. There was no respite.
‘I thought there would be some chance to rest. It was just full on for nearly a day. But I just felt so proud of Rachael.’
