Mum warns parents to be extra vigilant after finding a syringe on Morrisons baby-changing table

Emma was in her local Morrisons in Bolton, England.

Emma Kennedy was ‘filled with anger’ when she spotted a syringe lying on a baby-changing table in Morrisons.

Emma is mum to 22-month-old Harper and lives in Bolton. She was thankful to just be using the loo in Morrisons when she discovered there was a syringe on the baby-changing table and warned other parents to be vigilant.

While there have been lots of reports from America, warning parents about backs marks on baby-changing tables as they are a sign of drug use, it is less common to hear of such risks in the UK.

Emma posted two pictures on Facebook showing the syringe and at first glance it's barely visible.

Writing in the caption she explained how she was ‘beyond disgusted’ and urged other parents to take extra care when using baby-changing facilities.

She explained: ‘I am beyond disgusted and absolutely filled with anger that someone would stoop so low as to leave a used needle in a baby changing toilet on the baby changing table!

‘This was Morrison’s in town and to be fair to them it was due to be checked and they acted immediately on me telling them. Luckily Harper hadn’t gone anywhere near it as we were just using the toilet. Please please be extra vigilant and check any baby facilities before using them.’

Other people have reacted furiously to the picture with one person writing: ‘Good that you have seen that first, ohh my gush!!! What If there was a needle!!!😡😡😡’.

Another said: ‘Oh Emma that’s made me feel sick vile creatures in this world hope you and Harper are ok xxxxxx’.

Since the incident a Morrisons spokesperson told The Sun: ‘We are deeply concerned that a needle has been found at our Bolton store.

‘The health and safety of our customers is our top priority and we do regular checks in customer toilets and the needle has been left at some time between those checks.’
