Why Prince George and Princess Charlotte's Christmas will be extra special this year

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Prince George Princess Charlotte Christmas

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are in for an extra special Christmas this year, for a very sweet reason...

The adorable royal duo are surely getting very excited for Christmas, just like all the children around all the world who can't wait to open their presents.

But little George and Charlotte have another reason to be extra excited for the festive season this year, as it's their first Christmas as little trio.

Kate and Wills welcomed a third addition to their brood back in April, and so this will be their very first Christmas as a family of five.

By Christmas, Louis will be eight months old and probably start crawling around the Christmas tree - which we bet George and Charlotte will enjoy!

It's not known whether the Cambridges will be spending Christmas with the Middletons, like they did two years ago, or if they will be joining the Queen at Sandringham, as they did last year.

Kate is very close to her family, so the couple have skipped the royal festive celebrations in the past to be in Berkshire with grandma Carole and grandpa Michael.

Royal sources told the Daily Mail last year: ‘Her Majesty understands that it is a dilemma that many young couples face and acknowledges how close Catherine’s relationship is with her family.’

‘Indeed that is why she has long included Mr and Mrs Middleton in family events.'

Why Prince George and Princess Charlotte DON’T open presents on Christmas Day

If they do spend Christmas with the Middletons, Charlotte will certainly be delighted to hang out with her new cousin as Pippa also welcomed a new addition just a few weeks ago.

The little boy, reportedly named Arthur Michael, will be only three months at Christmas, but as Charlotte is said to have not left baby Louis' side during his first few months, it's safe to assume she likes babies.

If they do end up spending Christmas with the Windsors, George and Charlotte are in for yet another year of a grand Christmas lunch with over 20 people, plenty of presents, and some classic parlour games such as charades.

The little ones will also have another addition to the Christmas party to get excited about, as their auntie Meghan's mum Doria is reportedly joining the royals at Sandringham this year.

Either way, the little ones are set for a magical time!
