Prince William and Meghan Markle are only a few weeks away from welcoming their first child, and now they've launched their own Instagram.
While obviously not as exciting as when their bundle of joy arrives, royal fans have already started following the new account in the thousands, just minutes after the account went live.
The news of the new Instagram was first shared on Kensington Palace’s official Twitter, with a tweet saying: ‘Welcome to Instagram, SussexRoyal! Follow for more on the work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex 👉 https://www.instagram.com/sussexroyal/’.
Fans of the couple were thrilled they now have their own social media page, with one saying: ‘I’m thrilled to have this page available! Thank you so much! I love, love the Duke and Duchess of Sussex! Anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Sussex! 💙👑👶🏻💗’.
Another said: ‘Finally! Welcome, perfect timing ❤️😭’.
While a third added: ‘Yes!! 😍😍 and now we’re waiting for the Baby 👶🏻😋😋’.
Their first post (and the only one so far) is a series of different pictures from their royal tour and other engagements and includes a special message from Harry and Meghan: ‘Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.- Harry & Meghan’.
And it’s proving to be popular as they’ve already amassed nearly 200k followers in less than an hour, plus 47,000 likes on their first post.
Royal fans were left wondering if the couple will also get their own Twitter account, but no news on that so far.
Until now the couple used the same social media accounts as the Cambridges, but it seems like they want to pave their own way when it comes to sharing announcements and updates on their family.
Fingers crossed for a cute baby pic soon!
