Why royal fans are upset for Princess Charlotte after her first day at school
Princess Charlotte started school yesterday, but some royal fans pointed a very sad detail about her first day.
- Princess Charlotte was photographed alongside brother Prince George, Kate Middleton and Prince William yesterday as she entered her new school.
- The little royal looked overwhelmed with all the media attention, which upset some royal fans.
- This follows royal news that Kate and Wills’ little girl took a sparkly accessory to school that only costs 58p.
The Royal Family attracts a lot of media attention around the world, especially when it comes to the royal children.
Royal fans love seeing the cute royal babies growing up as their milestones are shared – from births, to christenings, to first days at school.
Yesterday was no different for Princess Charlotte, as the media was allowed to photograph the four-year-old and her big brother as they entered Thomas’s Battersea.
But after watching the video of Charlotte holding on to her mum’s hand and looking a little nervous, some royal fans felt like she could have been more nervous due to the media attention around her.

Commenting on the post, one said: ‘Why should they be photographed on such a day? I don’t want to sound like I’m accusing them of anything, but sometimes they shouldn’t be photographed for everything!’

Another wrote: ‘Can you imagine having cameras follow you around like that🤦🏼♀️’.
A third added: ‘Poor children. Charlotte looks so unconfortable and keeps looking at the camera womdering whats all that about.’
While a fourth commented: ‘Ahh they’re both so nervous all that attention bless them. I hope they both enjoyed their first day 💙💝’.
While William and Kate try to protect their children’s privacy as much as they can, they also share their big days with the public. In fact, this is seen by royal experts as a way to satisfy the public interest, which allows them to protect their personal lives without the intrusion of photographers.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter previously explained to Cosmopolitan: ‘Nothing is a given, but in terms of managing to keep a good relationship with the British media, it’s in William’s and Kate’s interest to release photos.’
And while it might seem overwhelming, it’s likely Prince William and Kate only allowed a very limited number of trusted photographers.
Back in 2017, when Prince George had his first day of school, Chris Jackson – who’s the husband of Kate’s personal stylist - was just one of the few photographers present.
