- This follows royal news that this picture of 'Princess Charlotte' got the internet talking...
Princess Charlotte is now back to school after a fun half term spent with her family in Norfolk, but it seems that she got a special present this week to soften the back to school blow.
While her dad, Prince William, was hosting an investitures ceremony at Buckingham Palace, he received a netball meant for Princess Charlotte from gold-winning netball champion Geva Mentor, who received a CBE for services to the sport.
Speaking to Press Association about the sweet present, she said, "I mentioned that I had a netball for little Charlotte, I think it's so important that kids know what netball is and grow up with it."
While we don’t know if Princess Charlotte has tried netball yet, she seems to have taken after her sporty parents when it comes to tennis.
A royal source revealed back in 2017 that the young royal had started to attend tennis lessons at the exclusive Hurlingham Club, in London. and had a natural talent for it.
The source told The Sun at the time, “Kate and William decided the Hurlingham was the perfect place for Charlotte to start, the source told the publication.

“She might not be three until May but they were convinced she’d love it and so far she has. She seems a bit of a natural.”
She also seems to be a football fan, as she was spotted playing outside with brother Prince George last year, and her dad also revealed he’s encouraging them to play sports.
Speaking to Men’s Wimbledon winner and fellow parent Novak Djokovic, when asked how the kids were doing, William said, ‘Very well. Trying to get a tennis racket in their hands. And a football!’
So cute!
