Prince George is now enjoying his well-deserved summer holidays, but royal fans should be able to catch a glimpse of the little royal next week…
The five-year-old has kickstarted his summer holiday with lots of fun in the sun, as he was spotted playing with little sister Charlotte at a polo match last week.
The little royals were there with Kate and younger brother Prince Louis, who stole the show as he made funny faces while wearing his mum’s sunglasses.
Meghan also made an appearance with her new bundle of joy, Prince Louis, in what was his first public appearance.
But royal fans can expect another glimpse of Prince George next week, and it’s because of a very special reason.
Kate and William’s firstborn is turning six on Monday July 22nd, and it’s likely the parents will continue the tradition of releasing a new portrait of him on his birthday.
Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked their son’s fifth birthday by releasing a brand new snap of him happily grinning at the camera.
Alongside it, they wrote on it: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday – thank you everyone for your lovely messages 🎈’.
They also released new snaps of Prince Louis on his first birthday in April, and three new pictures of Princess Charlotte on her fourth birthday in May.
But despite the fact that he’s getting older, Prince George reportedly doesn’t know he’s third in line to the throne according to Catherine Mayer, author of the book Charles: The Heart of a King.
In an interview with E! News in 2015, she said: ‘With George they are trying to delay that moment of realisation and give him normality before they thrust this on him.
‘But it will be, nevertheless, part of his upbringing both in terms of what he sees his parents and grandparents doing and probably quite soon a beginning of an understanding that he is in public life and what that means.’
