The UK’s 'smartest' baby names have been revealed
This list could help expecting parents with difficult decisions.
Picking a name for your beloved offspring can be a difficult task, but a newly published list of baby names could offer some help for parents-to-be.
The UK’s ‘smartest’ baby names have been revealed.
Tutoring platform Tutor House is the company behind the list - which features ten boys’ and ten girls’ names.
The lists are made up of the names which excel in all things education - so those who get the best grades at school, collage and university.
Tutor House analysed 10,000 names from the last five years, then cross-referenced them with the grades achieved by the children with those names.
George and Emma topped each compilation, with Thomas and Fatima ranking as the second smartest names.
Mohammed was the third smartest name for boys, followed by Alfie and Marcus in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Eve ranked third for girls, followed by Amelia at fourth as well as Felicity in fifth place.
The list for boys also featured Hugo, Krishna, Timothy, Rajesh and Daniel.
For the girls, Clare, Priya, Zhara, Joanna and Sarah were the names which formed the rest of the top ten.
Of course, it’s worth pointing out that grades are not the only measure of intelligence and that a child's name does not reflect his or her potential - so the list should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Alex Dyer, founder of Tutor House, said: “Parents often spend a great deal of time deliberating on what name to give their child, and rightly so.
“It forms part of your child’s identity, with social science studies finding that a name can influence careers, personality traits and even physicality.
"With that in mind, and considering the wealth of data we have, we thought it would be interesting to see what names are most commonly associated with being academically gifted.
"While obviously your name has no reflection on your potential, the results are still interesting and might prove useful for parents who are struggling to settle on a name.”
