Gareth Bale and his fiancée Emma Rhys-Jones have welcomed their third child into the world, a little boy named Axel Charles Bale.
The 28-year-old footballer announced the news of his and Emma’s third child to his 33.4 million Instagram followers with an adorable picture of the newborn.
The snap shows little Axel fast asleep wearing a star-print babygrow and a white hat.
Gareth captioned the post: ‘We are delighted to welcome a baby boy into our family this morning. Axel Charles Bale 08.05.18 👶🏻💙’
Emma shared the same image on her Instagram profile and wrote alongside it: ‘8th May: welcome baby Axel Charles Bale to the world 🎉👶’
The Real Madrid player and Emma already have two daughters together, five-year-old Alba Violet and two-year-old Nava Valentina.
Fans have taken to Twitter today to congratulate the pair but many seem divided on the baby’s unusual name.
‘You spelled Alex wrong there mate,’ one person tweeted, while another joked: ‘Guns N Roses fan then’ referring to Guns N Roses frontman Axl Rose.
Other users seemed pretty impressed with the name, with one person tweeting: ‘Axel Bale could well be the coolest three-syllable name out there.’
Eagle-eyed football fans also pointed out that the newborn appeared to be wearing Champions League mittens ahead of the huge final on May 26.
Gareth and Emma are also busy planning their upcoming wedding which will take place later this year in Tuscany, Italy, at the Vincigliata Castle. The pair got engaged in July 2016.
