Holly Willoughby forced to miss This Morning after youngest son has 'nasty fall'

Holly's since praised her son's bravery

Holly Willoughby had to miss her regular presenting slot on This Morning yesterday when her 17-month-old son Chester had a 'nasty fall' and had to be taken to hospital.

TV favourite Holly took to social media shortly after the accident to assure fans that Chester was ok, saying that he was 'just fine'.

Alongside a picture of the little boy's back in a hospital gown Holly praised her son saying, 'Thank you for all the lovely kind messages... Chester is just fine and was definitely the bravest out of all of us... '.

Holly then went on to thank the staff at the hospital where she and Chester had spent the night, saying, 'he received brilliant care from everyone at the #Chelseaandwestminster hospital, makes you realise again how lucky we are to have such a wonderful #nhs 💙'.

She finished off her post by thanking Ruth Langsford, who stepped into Holly's shoes for the morning to host alongside Philip Schofield after Holly had to take her youngest son to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Sunday night. Holly continued, 'also huge thanks to @ruthlangsford for coming to the rescue and @itvthismorning for being so understanding as always!!! Xxx'

Fans were quick to send well wishes, with one follower saying, 'Ahh glad to hear he is ok! Boys like to keep us mums on our toes! Xx'

On Monday morning Philip explained Holly's absence straight away, saying: 'Ruth's standing in today... Before we go any further he is alright. Chester her youngest son, yesterday afternoon fell over and banged his head.

'He's got a very nasty cut on his head. They dressed it overnight and today he needs to go back into hospital to get stitches so that's where Holly is. He is absolutely fine, he was playing afterwards but it's a nasty cut.'

Wishing you a speedy recovery Chester!
