‘Dare to dream’ Izzy Judd writes heartfelt message about IVF

As IVF turned 40 this week, Izzy Judd, wife of McFly’s Harry Judd, has opened up about her experience conceiving with the fertility treatment.

In an adorable Instagram post featuring an image of her daughter Lola, 34-year-old Izzy revealed how IVF changed her life while wishing Louise Brown – the first ever IVF baby – a happy 40th birthday.

‘Louise Brown’s 40th Birthday marks 40 years of IVF,’ Izzy wrote.

‘Looking at Lola today I couldn’t feel more grateful to this unbelievable medical science that has meant so many of us have been able to have a family who may not have otherwise been able.

‘It’s incredible to think this phenomenon is just 40 years old, what a gift and a miracle.

‘I feel so lucky and proud to be a mummy to a beautiful IVF baby and thank all my lucky stars that Lola picked me to be her mummy.’

Sending her love to others going through IVF, Izzy added: ‘I’m sure there are many going through IVF right now or perhaps longing for this science to be their miracle so I want to support all those and send love to anyone who has been touched by IVF. Always Dare to Dream.’

The mum-of-two conceived her first child, Lola Rose, through IVF in 2016.

Izzy and Harry welcomed their son Kit Harry Francis in 2017, who was conceived naturally.

Izzy previously spoke about her IVF battle following the announcement of her pregnancy with Kit in April last year.

She told her social media followers: ‘Harry, Lola and I are so happy to share our news.

‘After having IVF to conceive Lola people used to say to me you’ll probably fall pregnant naturally next time. I wondered how it would ever be that simple after all the difficulties we have previously faced.’

The violinist has also written about the years she spent struggling to conceive in her 2017 memoir Dare to Dream: My Struggling to Become a Mum – A Story of Heartache and Hope.
