Julia Stiles has come under fire after posting a picture of her with her newborn baby on social media, with fans saying she’s not holding him properly.
The new mum, who welcomed her first child in October, took to Instagram to post a cute snap of herself with new bubba.
Sharing the cute picture with her 140k followers, the mum joked in the caption: ‘I haven’t worn a back pack since middle school. 🤓 Now I have a front pack. #jujube #tulababycarriers’
Many of the 10 Things I Hate About You star’s fans took to the comments section to send her their congratulations on welcoming her first child, but other commented to criticise the way Julia was holding her baby son.
Instead of having his feet hanging free out of the carrier, the mum had his feet tucked into the waistband.
One commented: ‘Congrats! Beautiful new momma! Tula tip: Little baby feet go out the sides and not in waistband!’
Another wrote: ‘Yay! Feet out of waistband and baby’s face visible!’
Others tried to offer their advice: ‘Babies little feet should be out in the Free to Grow’; with someone else adding: ‘Please pull babies legs out for proper placement.’
However, according to US parenting website Romper, the makers of the baby carrier don’t explicitly say the baby’s legs have to be extended on their website.
Julia, who tied the knot with partner Preston J. Cook in September, confirmed she was expecting her first child in June.
The pair welcomed their first child in October, but only announced the happy news on social media a month later, with an adorable snap of her little one’s tiny hand.
She wrote at the time: ‘Strummer Newcomb Cook, born October 20, 2017. Thanks and ever thanks to the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and staff at Mount Sinai for helping bring this utter joy into our lives. ❤️✨ “Hello, World!”‘
