Kim Kardashian West has finally confirmed that she’s expecting her third child with husband Kanye West, after reports first emerged earlier this month.
Kim, who’s already a mum to four-year-old North and one-year-old Saint, took to Instagram to reveal the rumours are indeed true and that she will be welcoming a new addition to her brood.
Sharing a teaser for the upcoming series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the mum-of-two is seen telling the big news to sister Khloe, who’s also rumoured to be expecting her first child.
‘What happens every time I say, “Guess what?”‘ Kim asks her little sister on the phone, to which Khloe replies: ‘The person’s pregnant?’
Kim then finally confirms the reports that she will be adding to her family of four by saying: ‘We’re having a baby!’
Speculation about Kim and Kanye’s third baby started swirling around earlier this month, when several US media publications started reporting the couple were expecting another child.
However, the news have only now been confirmed by the 36-year-old, amid new reports that two of her sisters are also expecting babies.
Kim and Kanye opted to have their third child using a surrogate, as the mum was told by doctors it wouldn’t be safe for her to carry another baby.
‘I’m definitely leaning more towards I want to try… After talking to Kanye, I think I always knew that surrogacy was an option, but I didn’t think it was that realistic of an option, and now I feel like that’s my reality. I feel like surrogacy really is the only other option for me,’ she previously said the family’s reality show.
Kim suffers from placenta accreta, a condition which means part of the placenta becomes deeply embedded into the womb during the pregnancy. It became more serious during her second pregnancy with Saint, so she had to rule out becoming pregnant for a third time.
There are also reports that Kim’s sisters, 33-year-old Khloe Kardashian and 20-year-old Kylie Jenner, are expecting, but they have yet to confirm the news.
