Liam Payne and Cheryl’s baby son bear may already have his very own pair of designer trainers at barely nine months old, but his dad has now revealed that the tot will not be so spoilt on Christmas Day.
Chatting before his performance at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball over the weekend, singer Liam Payne revealed that far from showering his young son with gifts this Christmas, he and girlfriend Cheryl will be keeping things much simpler.
‘It’s my first Christmas as a dad. Best advice I’ve been given? Just buy wrapping paper, and make it really, really shiny, because they’ll only be interested in that,’ the 24-year-old dad told Metro whilst walking the red carpet.
Baby Bear will also be able to enjoy the Christmas decorations mum Cheryl has had strung up all around the couple’s home in the UK, as Liam revealed that his other half has been busy making their house ‘all Christmassy’ while he’s been away on tour in the US.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: ‘The house has just got done up all Christmassy so there’s a lovely feel around at the moment.’
‘I’ve been away from home for a little while so I’ve only seen pictures’ Liam confessed, admitting that missing out on things happening at home is ‘difficult’.
‘That’s been the most difficult part of touring so far I think,’ he added.
Liam has previously spoken about the struggle of leaving Cheryl and Bear behind while he goes off on tour. The doting dad explained that while bidding goodbye to Bear is hard, he knows it’s for the best.
‘It’s hard being away… time differences with babies – it’s really hard on them,’ he explained.
‘I don’t want to drag him around the world for, you know, just for my sanity. We’ll do it when the time is right.’
