Liam Payne has hinted that he might like to be a stay at home dad for a while to be there for his son Bear – just days after Cheryl admitted she’s not rushing back into work so she can continue to enjoy spending time with her baby.
Liam Payne and Cheryl Tweedy welcomed their baby boy Bear, back in March. However, doting dad Liam has previously admitted that he hasn’t been able to spend as much time with the tot as he would have liked due to his hectic work schedule.
The former One Direction singer has been busy over the last few months promoting his new music. He spoke recently about the struggle of leaving Cheryl and Bear behind while he goes off on tour saying, ‘It’s hard being away.’
Now the 24-year-old has suggested that while his focus is on his career right now, when Bear gets a bit older he would like to ‘be more at home’ with his son.
Speaking to the Sun Online, Liam revealed: ‘I had a bit of a break at the start [when Bear was born] but now I want to get work out of the way before school and stuff [with him] starts you know.
‘I want to be more at home with him during that time. I’m trying to be as busy as I am right now.’
Liam’s confession comes a week after Cheryl revealed to Lorraine Kelly that she’s in no rush to return to work.
The new mum revealed that she’s enjoying the ‘luxury’ of being at home with Bear, and despite her triumphant TV return over the weekend, she isn’t looking to ‘rush back’ to her busy schedule.
‘I’ve got the luxury of being able to spend time with my newborn child and I’m going to take that for what it is’, Cheryl said. ‘A lot of mothers have to rush back after giving birth. I don’t think it’s fair.’
