Mum praised for her GENIUS holiday packing hack for parents

Karen Louise Riddy has come up with a brilliant way to minimise stress when travelling with little ones

A mother of young children has come up with a brilliant way to minimise stress while on holiday with kids.

Taking to the Motherload's Facebook page ahead of her family vacation, Karen Louise Riddy shared a picture of her meticulously packed bag.

'Going away tomorrow with my babies for just under two weeks,' she began.

'Each one of these zip lock bags contains a full outfit, or full PJ set. Am I over the top or a genius? Haha.'

Karen went on to explain the reason behind her decision to store complete looks for her little ones in separate see-through packages.

She continued: 'Either way, no worrying in the mornings choosing outfits, or scrambling through a holdall looking for vests.'

We think Karen's idea is quite simply inspired and it's hardly shocking to discover that plenty of fans of the Motherload's social networking account did too.

Clearly in awe, the post quickly went viral among followers of the group, which acts as a supportive and non-judgemental space for women to open up about their experiences of motherhood.

Karen's status amassed a staggering 441 comments and garnered 1,700 'reactions' on Facebook.

The idea of travelling with youngsters - be it abroad or in the UK - can be something that fills parents with dread.

As well as following Karen's lead by being cunning when it comes to packing, there are lots of other things mums and dads can do to help a trip run smoothly.

Make long car journeys enjoyable for all by playing games on the way to your destination. Not only is 'I Spy' fun for everyone, it may help your child avoid motion sickness as they'll be so busy looking out of the window.

Or if you're jetting off somewhere with children over the age of three, be sure to pop boiled sweets in your hand luggage. Sucking can reduce any pain caused by air pressure changes in the cabin.
