Mum's photos of 12-year-old daughter delivering baby brother spark online debate

Some users felt that this experience was inappropriate for a 12 year old.

The moment a 12-year-old girl delivered her baby brother has been captured and shared on Facebook, sparking a debate amongst thousands of social media users.

When pre-teen Jacee Dellapena had asked to be present at the birth of her baby brother, she had no idea just how 'present' she would be.

According to The Independent, the school girl had asked to be there for the birth of her younger brother Zaydn a few years previously, but her parents had decided it could be too much for a young child.

However, when the family became pregnant again - for what they were sure would be the last time - they decided this would be Jacee's only chance of experiencing the magical moment of a sibling being born.

Speaking to MS News Now, the 12 year old explains how she became worried that she wouldn't be able to watch the birth properly if she was positioned by her mother's head.

'I started crying because I thought I wasn't going to get to see him be born, because I was too short.'

Mum-of-three Dede described the moment in which the doctor who was in charge of the delivery then invited the pre-teen to come and not just watch, but help deliver the baby herself.

'Doctor Wolf said, "Why don't you just let her suit up and deliver the baby?" And I said "What? No!".'

But it seems mum Dede changed her mind, and allowed her daughter to not only be present but to help deliver her newborn son. Despite being nervous she was 'going to mess it up', Jacee has since described it as the 'best moment of my life'.

'I actually, like delivered him, like, he let me actually push down and pull the baby out.

'I was like, "Wow, like I've played fake doctor before, but this is, like, the real thing, this is the real deal".'

Father Zack caught the delivery on camera and has since uploaded a collection of raw photos which have sparked debate online.

Some users have praised the parents for allowing their daughter to have a 'special bond' with her sibling, whilst others argued the situation wasn't 'appropriate' for a child.

One user said, 'This made tears come to my eyes so BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations i know they're always have a special bond.'

Whilst another agreed, 'Oh my heavens....... The bond she already has with her little brother. UNBREAKABLE! The glow on her face, the love pouring out as she is looking at him in complete amazement. Best friends for sure.'

However, another Facebook user said they wouldn't have been comfortable with the situation, 'I do not think that's appropriate for a child to see, but if her parents allowed her to be in the room than good for her. I know I would not let my daughter see that as such a young age.'

Another agreed, 'This is not cute at all this kids are growing up to damn fast thankz to parents like this , i dont see how is this normal for a 12 year old to know how babys are delivered'.

A third added: 'Children can not comprehend adult issues. I would never ever allow my child to witness that. There are just some things we have to wait on and the ideal is all wrong. No no no!!!!'
