Student surprises teacher with heartwarming gift that he's wanted since he was a kid

The rewards of being an inspirational teacher!

A video on Twitter showing a student gifting a pair of Nikes to his favourite teacher has gone viral for all the right reasons!

Teenage student Hector Montez bought his teacher, Thomas Walser, a pair of 1982 Nike trainers that Coach Walser had apparently wanted since he was 12 years old.

The video shows Hector getting up in front of the rest of the class, putting the box on the coach's desk, thanking him for 'always keeping it real', and presenting the gift to Coach Walser, who then pulls him in for a big hug.

Hector tweeted, 'It's good to give back to the man who's always been on my side,' alongside a video in which Coach Walser is shocked by the gift, and then hugs Hector.

The tweet has since gone viral, retweeted 110k times and liked 190k times.

Thousands of people have commented on the heart-warming video, applauding Hector and Coach Walser for the kindness they've shown towards each other.
