'Absolutely shocking' Parents SLAM John Lewis for forcing disabled children to change on the toilet floor
A mum has shared a heartbreaking image
John Lewis is in the limelight for its long-anticipated Christmas ad, however the high street giant has come under fire from parents who have been forced to change their disabled children on toilet floors.
Mum Laura Moore shared a heartbreaking image of a young girl on the floor of what looked like a disabled toilet cubicle, highlighting what families and carers are having to do.
The Mirror reported that while the parents of the girl in the picture don't wish to be identified they allowed Laura, whose own son is disabled, to share it on their behalf.
Taking to Twitter, Laura sent a direct tweet to the retailer saying: 'While everyone is swooning over how wonderful the new @johnlewisretail advert is... just take a moment to look at this photo which was taken in one of their stores because they don't provide #changingplaces for severely disabled people & refuse to do so. Priorities'.
And it struck a chord with many on social media as it's now been shared on Twitter over 1300 times.
One follower admitted that as a business owner it made them think twice: 'This is so thought provoking, because genuinely I didn't even think about this. I own a business venue and will now talk to my landlord about upgrading our facilities. Thank you'.
Another Twitter user couldn't contain their outrage: 'Absolutely shocking, £7m on advertising campaign and a human being is degraded to lying on a bathroom floor.'

The store replied to Laura on the social platform, ensuring that they will be working with their construction and procurement teams to review the changing facilities in all new stores.
They also promised to work closely with shopping centre developers to influence the addition of the much needed facilities.
Laura, tweeting under the handle Mum On A Mission, replied: 'Thank you for listening. And thank you for realising we are people and customers.'
Laura, from West Sussex, is a huge advocate of the Changing Places campaign, which is calling on retailers and business to provide functional spaces with necessary height adjustable changing benches and a hoists to change their loved ones.
