Dad-of-three Rio Ferdinand has admitted that his kids are pushing him to marry girlfriend Kate Wright.

Ex-TOWIE star Kate Wright recently admitted to This Morning hosts, Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby, that Rio’s kids – Lorenz, 11, Tate, nine and Tia, six – wanted the couple to have a baby.

She explained; 'On a daily basis, they'll ask: “When are you giving us a baby brother or sister?” I have to say: “Not yet.”’

But it seems the three kids don't just want a bigger family – they want Rio and Kate to tie the knot too.

Speaking to The Sun exclusively at the BBC Sport’s World Cup media launch, Rio said: ‘They want to play a part on a wedding day.

‘My little girl wants a replica dress and all this stuff. The kids talk about that a lot, always asking “What role am I playing?

'"Am I holding the ring? Who’s doing this?” They have it all planned.”'

The 39-year-old praised girlfriend Kate for becoming a mother figure to his children, following the tragic death of his wife Rebecca in 2015.

He added: ‘I’m proud of her – she’s done an amazing job. People in her position sometimes go unrecognised.

‘She has dealt with it in a mature fashion, in a majestic sort of way.’

In addition, Kate Wright told This Morning: ‘[When I got together with Rio] everyone thought I was crazy. My mum was thinking, "Oh my god!" I felt like I had two choices. I was in this world that had a lot of drama, it was very public.

'They had lost their mum, they don’t need a woman who is going to be out everywhere. They need someone who’s going to be home with them to give them love.’

Kate, 26 and Rio, 39, have reportedly been dating since January 2017 and moved in together in October last year, but have mostly kept their relationship away from the spotlight.
