Russell Kane opens up about becoming a dad for the first time

In a way a comedian only knows how...

Funny man Russell Kane has been talking about becoming a father for the first time and sharing hilarious photos of his daughter on social media.

Russell has introduced his five-week-old baby Mina to the world on both Twitter and Instagram, but in a way that only a comedian knows how.

Adding his own comic take on becoming a dad, the Essex star has been superimposing pictures of his pet pug, Captain Colin, over family photos with baby Mina.

Russell, 35, has also posted a video to his YouTube channel showing the back of his daughter's head and saying; 'I love the back of a newborn's head. It's so much like a coconut. It's like a really soft shell coconut.'

Speaking to Yahoo about the birth, Russell said he was trying to flirt with the nurses; 'I was more stressed about the thought of going topless on the recovery ward at Romford Queens hospital than I was about the birth itself.'

Mina is Russell and wife Lindsey's first child together. The pair got engaged after 18 months of dating, and married in a private ceremony in Spain in 2014.

Russell first met Lindsey when he picked the former glamour model out of the crowd at his Manchester show to incorporate to his routine. After the show ended a friend of the makeup artist messaged Russell on Twitter with Lindsey's contact details.

A spokesperson said at the time; 'They're very much in love.'

The new father has been married once before, for a period of nine months to comic Sadie Hasler, before they split in 2011.

Speaking about his previous marriage, Russell said; 'As soon as we did it, we thought "We're too young, what have we done?'"

The 2010 Edinburgh-Comedy-Award winner, who was born Russell Grineau, came to fame presenting Big Brother's Big Mouth in 2007.
