Sharleen Spiteri, the lead singer of Texas, has tied the knot to her culinary chef beau Bryn Williams after a decade together.
Yesterday, the couple enjoyed their very special nuptials at the 15th-century St Tyrnog parish church near Denbigh, Bryn’s North Wales hometown.
The pair met when Sharleen visited Bryn’s Primrose Hill restaurant Odette’s all the way back in 2007.
Sharleen’s close friend, designer Stella McCartney, designed her custom gown for the wedding – a delicate floor length piece adorned with lace panels and a waist-length net tulle.
Breakfast show host Chris Evans attended the do along with 500 other guests – and kindly let the newlyweds borrow his swanky Aston Martin DB9 to drive to their wedding reception together.
Speaking of the celebrations, a guest told The Sun: ‘It was the most beautiful day and even the grey skies and torrential rain didn’t put a dampener on things — everyone had a ball.’
The source then added: ‘The couple were beaming and Sharleen looked absolutely stunning,’
‘Their reception marquee was enormous and some of the locals were joking that it was the size of a football pitch.’
The multi-platinum artist revealed her engagement in February last year, during a visit to the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show.
Talking to host Chris Evans, Sharleen revealed: ‘I’m taking a bit of a beamer… only after 10 years, he’s actually asked to marry me! It took him that blooming long.’
She then joked: ‘I thought he was having a heart attack. Who knows what spurred him on?’
It’s a great end to a difficult year for Sharleen, who revealed earlier this year that she plans to quit live gigs in a bid to recover from a crippling back injury.
After rupturing three discs in her spine, doctors ordered her to stop playing or risk further damage and major surgery.
Sharleen is due to take an indefinite break from live performances following a final Scottish show next month.
Congratulations to Sharleen and Bryn on their special day!
