Sugababes star Siobhan Donaghy welcomes her first child

'Welcome to the world little man'

Siobhan Donaghy – of the original Sugababes - has taken to Instagram to confirm the birth of her baby boy with husband Chris McCoy. The 33-year-old singer was excited to tell the world the lovely news as she shared the sweet snap with her 8,300 followers on Friday. Posting a natural shot of herself in bed, she was glowing with an emotional smile on her face, with the little boy snuggled close to her chest, Siobhan wrote: 'Welcome to the world little man. welcomed little Ford with her sailor husband Chris McCoy, who she married in a private ceremony in 2013 after a long-term relationship. And fans were thrilled for the new mum, with over 217 messages of congratulations left on the image. One said: ‘Congratulations!! Having a baby boy is the best!! Gorgeous name too ❤️' Her former bandmate, Mutya Buena, also sent her well wishes, commenting: 'Congrats hunny.' Another greeted the little chap directly writing: 'Amazing news!! ❤️💙💚💜 Hi Ford!!!' The unusual baby name comes, not from the popular car brand, but the old English for 'dweller by the ford' - another word for the crossing of a shallow stream or river.

The happy announcement came after Siobhan announced she and Chris were expecting in an Instagram post in April.

made the reveal by sharing a pic of herself, captioned with 'working on a little something for the summer' and a baby emoji to really highlight the exciting news. Siobhan rose to fame as part of the original line up in 90's girlband Sugababes. After working initially with Mutya Buena they then enlisted Keisha Buchanan as the third member. However, by 2001 she left the band, and was replaced by Heidi Range. What do you think of the name Ford? Cool or a little too unusual? Let us know in the comments box below!
