'I wanted someone to love me more' Jessica Alba shares the surprising reason that she wanted a son
She wants a similar bond to what her daughters have with their dad
Pregnant Jessica Alba has revealed the surprising reason she wanted the baby she's expecting to be a little boy.
The expectant mum, who already has two daughters, spoke candidly about her pregnancy in a new interview and revealed why she wanted a baby boy this time around.
Speaking on the The Rachael Ray Show, the mum said she was hoping to have a son so that she can share a similar bond to what her daughters have with their dad.
During the interview, she explained how her two daughters are always excited about seeing their father, a bond she's hoping to recreate with the little one who's on the way.
'For me … the girls love their dad. I wanted someone to love me more', the mum said. 'When he comes home, they're like, "Daddy!" It's like a party.
'When I come home, they're like, "Oh, hey Mom". I'm like, "I do everything for you! I cook, I do all the things!"'
The actress then went on to reveal that her youngest daughter was worried about becoming a middle child but now she won't have to compete for attention with another girl.

'My 6-year-old, she was worried about being a middle child, but she gets to be a big sister and a little sister, so she's stoked about that,' the 36-year-old said. 'And she doesn't have to compete with another girl.'
Jessica announced she was expecting her third child with husband Cash Warren back in July by posting an adorable announcement video on Instagram, featuring the couple's two daughters, Honor and Haven.
Just last week, the Into the Blue star took to social media again to reveal she's expecting a baby boy with another cute video.
After announcing they were going to welcome a third addition to their brood, the mum told E! News that this will be her 'last one'.
