Aldi launches Valentine’s Day meal deal – and prices start from less than £7!

Each year when Valentine’s Day comes around, it’s a nice excuse to do something special with your other half.

While a lot of couples will choose to go and stay at a swanky hotel for the night or splash out on a nice restaurant for dinner, many choose to stay in and enjoy a cosy night together at home.

And rather than gorge on a standard Friday night takeaway or go through the effort of putting together a slap up meal (because who has time for that on a Wednesday night?), many food-savvy couples opt for a ‘dine in for two’ deal.

Marks & Spencer shoppers were devastated back in October when the high-street retailer stopped selling their iconic Dine in Meal Deals, which had been running in stores for 10 years.

But now budget supermarket Aldi has stepped in to bring us what we’re all missing – and they’re even saving us a bit of money.

The bargain grocery store has introduced a range of Dine in for Two meals and the cheapest combination comes in at less than £7!

For the main meal they have five different options for you to choose from, including: Specially Selected British Beef Wellington (£5.49), Sirloin Steaks with Pink Peppercorn Butter (£6.49, twin pack), Specially Selected Truffled Macaroni & Cheese (£3.99), Specially Selected Orkney Cheese & Chicken Gratin (£3.49) and Specially Selected Lightly Smoked Scottish Salmon Fillets (£3.99, twin pack).

Alongside the main meal you can also add a side dish to go with it. Go for their Specially Selected Triple Cooked Chips (£1.59) or their Specially Selected Green Vegetable Trio (£1.99).

And of course, what’s a Valentine’s meal without any dessert.

Follow up your delicious dinner with either their Specially Selected Raspberry Panna Cotta (£1.99 for two), Specially Selected Valentine’s Belgian Chocolate Hearts (£1.99 for two) or Specially Selected Chocolate & Raspberry Melt in the Middle Pudding (£1.69 for two).

So, if you opt for the Specially Selected Orkney Cheese & Chicken Gratin, the Triple Cooked Chips and the Chocolate & Raspberry Melt in the Middle Pudding it'll come in at only £6.77!

The meals will be in stores from tomorrow (Tuesday 12th February), but you'll have to be quick if you want them, as they'll only be available while stocks last.

And choose from one of the supermarket’s award-winning wines to go with your meal.

Aldi suggests their Specially Selected Exquisite Australian Shiraz (£5.79) or Specially Selected Exquisite Touraine Sauvignon Blanc (£5.69)

Or, if you want to splash out on something special go for Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut NV (£11.49).
