Best Aldi wines: The best award-winning wines to buy at Aldi
These award-winning Aldi wines have been rated the best of the best - and are all bargain buys...
From white to red, from Prosecco to rosé, here are the best Aldi wines to buy both online and in-store - all of which are award winners.
Aldi is fast becoming our go-to destination for the best cheap wines, with this budget supermarket offering a huge number of high-quality wines at irresistibly low prices. This roundup of the best Aldi wines includes budget bottles under £20.
"Every season, the supermarkets hold press tastings of their upcoming wine selection which are well attended by wine experts such as Jancis Robinson and Dr. Jamie Goode," says Melanie Leyshon, WSET-qualified wine writer. "It’s worth looking at their websites, blogs and Instagram feeds to see if they’re found any budget gems. There are always some surprisingly good stand-out buys. For example, a £6.99 Assyrtiko from Aldi has long been a favourite with many wine writers."
Like Lidl wines, Aldi's wine selection has received a lot of attention over the years for having gained multiple medals - gold, silver, and bronze - from very prestigious wine competitions like the International Wine Challenge (IWC) and the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). Both are hugely respected, and judges from around the world blind taste-test the wine to pick the best ones. But do you know which ones to pick when you're hitting the aisles?

2. Californian Petite Sirah
RRP: £10.99
Perfect for those looking for a deep red wine infused with blackberries, raspberries and dried fig. This wine is certainly a bold contender perfect paired with roast pork and BBQ foods.
One happy Aldi customer gave the Calfornian Petite Sirach 4 stars and commented; "Fabulously rich and fruity without being too heavy or over-alcoholised and a great partner to hearty food. Let's hope this stays in stock long enough for me to include another couple of bottles in my next online order."
3. Château Moulinet Pomerol

Best Aldi white wine
4. Specially Selected Greco Di Tufo
RRP: £7.99
Floral notes, pineapple, and peach - this is a refreshing, fruity wine that is just perfect served with chicken, seafood, or salads. A bottle of this award-winning wine is just £7.99, which is hard to believe. You can also buy this bottle in bulk priced at just £95.88 for a case of 12 bottles.
"We first knew about this wine 25 years ago when we were holidaying in Sorrento, Italy. I had been looking for it for some time when by chance it was recommended on Saturday Kitchen, to be found in M&S at £10 per bottle. They had none in stock so I googled it and located it in Aldi at less than £8 per bottle. What joy and thanks to Aldi, as I had never shopped there before."
5. Specially Selected Roussanne 2020 75cl
RRP: £6.79
Bag a bargain with this bottle of Specially Selected Roussanne 2020 at just £6.79. Awarded 90pts at the IWSC Awards 2021, this bottle is a favourite among wine tasters for its elegant taste of apricot aromas.

6. Castellore Organic Prosecco
RRP: £7.99
"Great flavour, great fizz, and gorgeous colour" is how one customer praised this award-winning Prosecco and they're not alone. The eco-friendly fizz has been a favourite with judges at the IWC since 2019, when it first picked up a commendation.
This year though, the organic Prosecco secured a silver medal for its silky, sparkling pear and green apple taste. Grown with no pesticides or herbicides in a vineyard just 30km north-east of Venice, it's a real clean fizz and a steal at £7.99 a bottle.
7. Organic Prosecco Rosé
RRP: £8.49
Think strawberry, cranberry, and cherry when delving into a bottle of this Organic Prosecco Rosé. Priced at just £8.49 a bottle, this is a popular choice and can be bought in bulk too with a case of 6 bottles costing just £50.94.
"I love this Prosecco - the taste, the price, the fact that it’s organic, even the shape of the bottle!" said Gill. "Adore this rose prosecco and because it doesn’t have so many chemicals doesn’t upset my sensitive tum (in moderation obvs) - it’s smooth and lovely with nibbles or a full meal," added another happy Aldi customer both giving this bottle 5 stars.
8. Champagne Blanc De Noirs
RRP: £19.99
This red berry Champagne originates from France. It's a dry-style Champagne that has been awarded the Silver Winner International Wine Challenge 2021 Award. This Blanc de Noirs champagne is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
"Delicious very fine bubbles and a subtle taste of peaches, beats any champers you buy from the so-called big supermarkets," said one customer who gave this Champagne 5 stars. A 4.6-star rating by customers overall - highly recommended.
