This new gadget lets you sip wine in the shower

Just what we've all been waiting for...

If there’s one thing a shower is often missing, it’s a handy contraption to hold our glass of wine in.

Sometimes, after a long day at work or juggling childcare with a mountain of washing, a quick seven minute shower is simply too long to wait before we can get our hands on a chilled glass of Chardonnay or a satisfying slurp of our favourite red.

Well, it seems there is a solution.

Enter Urban Outfitters, who are now selling a convenient device that answers all our prayers.

The Sipski Shower Wine Glass Holder pretty much does what it says on the tin. It’s a handy gadget that sticks to tiles and allows us to keep our precious glass of wine with us at all times – even mid hair wash.

It costs $15 (£11.48) and is sold on their US site, but the company ships to England.

Of course the gadget made wine lovers everywhere very happy. One tweeted: ‘Will hunt them down!!’; while another said: ‘I need this in my life like yesterday!’

Others thought the idea was slightly, er, strange. ‘This made me laugh… what on earth!!!’, another person wrote on Twitter.

The product description doesn’t recommended using it with an actual wine glass, which is advice we’d definitely heed.

Hot steamy shower, plus slippery hands, plus glass, plus insatiable need for wine sounds like a recipe for disaster – it’s probably worth investing in a plastic wine glass to avoid potential breakages.

One thing we would like to know is how to prevent warm water from getting into the wine glass. Is there a special head technique we all need to learn that makes sure our treasured Malbec isn’t diluted with soapy suds from our ocean fresh shower gel? The more we think about it, the more it sounds like it could be tricky. We’ll still give it a try though…

What do you think? Does the Sipski Shower Wine Glass Holder sound like it’s more effort than it’s worth, or is it a dream come true? Will it be on your Christmas list this year? Head over to our Facebook page to let us know!
