Channel 4 has just unveiled the details for The Great British Bake Off Christmas and New Year’s specials and so far we like what we see.

Joining the judge line up – Paul, Prue, Sandi and Noel – are a few very special guests and faces we miss from previous editions of the much loved baking show.

The news was announced on the show’s official Twitter account, with a post saying: ‘On your marks, get set… put down the sprouts! Bake Off is riding down your chimneys and onto your tellies for two festive specials! #GBBO’.

The Great Christmas Bake Off: when will The Great British Bake Off Christmas special air?

For the Christmas show, we’ll be seeing 2017 contestants Liam Charles and Flo Atkins, as well as Jane Beedle and Andrew Smyth from 2016, battle it out for the prestigious title of Christmas Star Baker.

Serenading the group will be musical guests The Darkness, who are set to perform their famous festive rock anthem ‘Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End)’…we reckon Noel must have had something to do with this one?

The festive special will be airing at 8pm on Channel 4 on Christmas Day – perfect for a cosy finish to the big day.

The Great New Year’s Bake Off: when will The Great British Bake Off New Year’s special air?

If you think you’ll be left wanting more Bake Off action after Christmas, then you can also tune into The Great New Year’s Bake Off.

For the New Year version, the returning contestant’s will be 2017 finalist Steven Carter-Bailey, 2016 champion Candice Brown, 2015’s Dr Tamal Ray and Kate Henry from 2014, The musical guests on New Years will be the London Gay Men’s Chorus.

The show will air at 7.40pm on New Year’s Day, on Channel 4.
