M&S have announced they're having a flash sale on wine, and we can't think of anything that says Friday more...
It’s finally the weekend, and we’re ready to celebrate in style with a little help from M&S and their latest flash sale.
Customers can pick up a bottle of cheeky Italian red, fruity French white or blushing Spanish rosé wine for – wait for it – £4.
They describe their 2017 Mandorla Rosso as a ‘fruit-forward’ Italian red with cherry and red berry notes. It’s unoaked, giving it a ‘smooth and youthful’ feel, and is also available in bianco (white). It comes from the Puglia region of Italy and goes particularly well with pasta, pizza and antipasti.
The Réserve de la Saurine, also a 2017 vintage, is a ‘soft and fruity’ aromatic white infused with vibrant peach and apple flavours. This smooth wine is also available in rosé and red, and has beeswax and honey notes. It pairs well with butternut squash risotto, salmon steak and roast pork with apple.
Fans of dry wines will love the crisp 2017 Raso de la Cruz Rosé. Its fresh strawberry and raspberry aromas are balanced by peppery, herbaceous notes. This punchy summer wine makes a great aperitif and will complement grilled vegetable dishes and sushi. It’s also available in blanco (white) and tinto (red).
The store’s social media team brushed off the furore, writing, ‘Suggestive? It’s merely a bunny in the “downwards-facing dog” yoga position’.
One happy reviewer described it as fruity, tangy and ‘in my opinion lovely with whatever you want!’
‘Great wine for summer parties and alfresco dining,’ another commented. Well we’ll be stocking up…
M&S’s flash wine sales are always popular with customers. ‘M&S WINE SALE. RUSHING TO THE NEAREST M&S,’ announced one Twitter user. ‘AN IMPORTANT PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. Thank you,’ another replied.
But if you want to catch this bargain, you have to be quick – it’s only available until Monday 1st April!
