Aldi and Sainsbury's are selling Prosecco for under £5 a bottle – but you better hurry!

Prosecco

Supermarkets Aldi and Sainsbury's have both slashed the cost of their popular Prosecco, just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend!

Prosecco fans, it's time to get excited because both Aldi and Sainsbury's have slashed the price of their bottles of fizz.

If you’re stocking up on bottles of bubbles for the Bank Holiday weekend, head to these high-street supermarkets who are selling Prosecco for under a fiver.

Aldi’s Castellore Prosecco Fizzante can usually be bought for £5.49 per 75cl bottle.

However, bubbly lovers can get their hands on a bottle for only £3.99.

And, Sainsbury's is selling a new limited edition Prosecco DOC Castello del Poggio for just £5.

Both sparkling wines have soft and peachy tones, with a hint of pear and lemon zesty flavours.

Aldi's Frizzante fizz is described as ‘gently sparkling’, so the strength of the bubbles is much softer – this means, it’s not too heavy and easy to drink.

Sainsbury's describe their limited edition Prosecco DOC Castello del Poggioa as a 'crisp and beautifully balanced Prosecco, the sparkling wine has notes of golden apple, white peach and sweet honey', that you could pair perfectly with a barbecue steak or tasty burger.

If you’re planning a May Day bank holiday barbecue, both Proseccos will work perfectly as an aperitif.

The wines are only available at the discounted price for a limited time, so you’ll have to get in quick.

As Italian Prosecco fans will already know, this isn’t the first time super markets have slashed prices in a bid to go head to head on alcoholic drink prices.

However, Aldi wins with the biggest price slash this weekend - a bottle of prosecco for only £3.99 - absolutely fantastic.

As the battle of the budget stores continues, you’ll need to hurry if you want to get your hands on this bargain.

The bubbly is being sold in stores only while stocks last.

Earlier this year, Aldi introduced the lowest-calorie prosecco on UK supermarket shelves, at just 63 calories per glass.

So, if you’re watching your waistline before bikini season hits, you can pick up a bottle for £8.99.

In the meantime, we will be raising a glass to both Lidl and Aldi’s price deal and the extra day off!
