Fancy a Friday night takeaway? Asda’s got the perfect solution if you’re on a budget.

The supermarket's popular Indian and Chinese Meals for 2 are now on rollback, reduced from £7 to an incredible £4.75.

There are two Indian meals and one Chinese meal to choose from. Each box is packed with a starter, two different kinds of main and two types of side dish – plenty for two to share.

The Indian meals contain two different curry dishes, plus onion bhajis to whet your palate, and pilau rice and naan breads to round things off. You can choose from Chicken Jalfrezi with Chicken Tikka Masala, or Chicken Korma, which also comes with Chicken Tikka Masala.

‘Such a fantastic selection,’ one online shopper raved. ‘All so well thought out. Can honestly say this food is better tasting than our local Indian takeaway. Feeds two to bursting point. Nothing was thrown away.’

‘What a bargain for two curries, two naan, two bhajis and rice,’ said another. ‘Enjoyed it immensely. Not too hot, but full of flavour and even more of a great deal as it’s on offer. Would highly recommend. Where can you get two meals with sides and accompaniments for a fiver these days?’

The Chinese meal box contains Chinese-style chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, vegetable spring rolls and prawn crackers.

It’s had mixed reviews from customers but gets high ratings from happy shoppers. ‘Authentic Chinese flavours,’ said one reviewer. ‘Better than our local takeout.’

‘Lots of tasty sauce. Delicious!’ another exclaimed.

The deal was flagged up by a hotukdeals user this week, who pointed out the whopping 32 per cent discount. The post generated plenty of excitement, with more than 80 users commenting.

‘Had this before, it’s great for the money at £7 but at this price is a stonking deal,’ one user replied.

But some commentators were frustrated by the lack of vegetarian options. ‘My only issue is they don’t offer a veggie option,’ said one.

‘This always annoys me too,’ agreed another.

‘I see no veggie choice again, we veggies and vegans get left out of all these lovely deals!!!!!!’ another user added.

If you’re a chicken fan though, you’re in luck, as you can pick the boxes up in store or online now.
