  • Iceland has released a beef-filled Yorkshire pudding.

Now that we’re officially into October and the weather has decided to turn, it’s all about comfort food.

It’s that time of year when as soon as the weekend hits the familiar itch for a roast dinner kicks in.

Because when it’s cold and raining outside there’s really nothing better than snuggling up indoors with a hot plate of your roasted favourites.

And now one supermarket is about to make it a whole lot quicker, easier and cheaper to do so.

Frozen food specialist Iceland is now selling a giant Yorkshire pudding that is filled with beef.

The plate-sized Yorkshire pud is filled with tender strips of beef, carrots and peas and topped with gravy. So you can have your whole roast dinner in one handy package.

Best of all, it comes in at only £1 – cheaper than any roast we’ve come across!

And if you’re short on time it can be ready in only six minutes – plus no washing up!

It’s available on the Iceland website and in stores across the country.

Customers love the dish, taking to the website to leave reviews.

‘Good value for money,’ wrote one. ‘I added a few extra veggies, salt and pepper, mint sauce on the Yorkshire.. me and my son love it.. I would have payed over ten pounds for this in a pub’.

‘Most surprised at how solid the pudding was,’ commented another, ‘a good base held the meat and gravy well without leaking, the pudding still crispy around the edges, perfect meal for one, i’d cooked extra veg.. totally not necessary. Perfect value, perfect size, just yummy :)’.

‘Can’t fault it really,’ wrote another fan, ‘lovely big Yorkshire pudding, nicely cooked vegetables, delicious gravy and a slice of beef. Good enough for a cheap Sunday roast’.

One could have done with a little bit more meat, writing, ‘I wasn’t expecting this to be as good as it is. Yorkshire pud is spot on and the veg and gravy were tasty too. Not a huge amount of beef, what do you expect for a quid? It was, however, tender and tasty and went down a treat.’

However others added, ‘For the price you can’t go wrong – very tasty’, ‘Yorkshire cooked nicely, plenty of veggies and gravy’ and ‘Love these. The gravy is always great and the beef is thin and tasty!’.
