John Torode teased he had 'exciting news' to share with his partner Lisa Faulkner, but this is what they actually had to announce...
The Masterchef judge and his actress and TV cook fiancée recently announced their engagement back in January.
So when John teased fans with an 'exciting news' post on social media, fans were convinced they were about to make a baby announcement.
One said: 'You're having a baby'; while another added: 'She's got a bun in the oven.'
However, Lisa was quick to admit that it wasn't the case - commenting 'Ha!! Definitely no baby' - and turns out their announcement is something entirely different as the pair will be hosting a new weekend cookery programme on ITV.
The new show, named John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen, will see the pair cook simple and delicious meals while sharing ‘unique tips, neat techniques and tricks and of course, inspiring ideas’ from a cosy modern kitchen.
‘I am really thrilled and excited to be working with Lisa on our new show for ITV,’ said Australian-born John. ‘Our Weekend Kitchen will certainly be a great reflection of us working together on food and our style and chatting about things we love to do, made for Sunday morning viewing.’
‘I am really looking forward to working with John and I am delighted that we have been asked to make a programme together for ITV’ added partner Lisa.
‘It’s a lovely series to be asked to present and even better that we get to share some of our favourite recipes and ideas with the viewers. I know we are going to have a lot fun making it.’
The hour-long show will air nine episodes each Sunday morning, but a release date has not yet been confirmed.
