Red wine gin has arrived in the UK – here’s where to buy it!

It can be hard to choose what to drink, but if you find yourself torn between red wine and gin, we’ve got the perfect solution.

You read that right, red wine gin is now a thing, and it’s been created by the geniuses at Four Pillars Gin distillery in Australia. They’ve called it Bloody Shiraz Gin.

To make it, grapes are steeped in the gin for eight weeks, then they’re pressed and blended with even more gin. Apparently this creates ‘notes of pine forest, white pepper and spices’.

‘The gin is beautifully balanced with a delicious sweetness and nice tannins to finish.’

The result is a bit like sloe gin, but has a stronger alcohol content at 37.8%. Interestingly, like wine, the gin will also continue to develop in flavour.

‘Drink it young and fresh with red berry and spice characters, or enjoy it as it develops’ say the drink makers.

If you fancy trying the unique concoction, it’s available in the UK so you won’t need to jet off all the way to Australia. You can find 750ml bottles in suppliers such as Master of Malt (for £40.19), Drink Supermarket (£40.19) Simple Wines Direct (for £36.99).
