Start your day with the perfect banana smoothie.
Smoothies are such an easy breakfast to make, and this one is no exception. This recipe uses just three ingredients, plus a handful of ice and some fruit to top it with if you fancy. Chuck everything in the blender and the whole thing is ready in only 3 minutes - a speedy, nutritious breakfast for only 165 calories. We used fat-free yoghurt for this recipe, but if you want a creamier result you can upgrade slightly to a low fat one instead. Slightly overripe bananas work especially well here, and you'll never have any excuse for throwing away bad bananas again. If you have a bunch is turning overripe, you can peel , slice and freeze them, ready to make into banana smoothies at a later date.
Ingredients

Top tip for making this banana smoothie:
If you want a chocolate version, add a teaspoon of cocoa to the mix. For a nutty twist, add a spoon of peanut or almond nut butter.
