Gin mince pies anyone? Aldi unveils their new festive food range

Call the gin-lover in your life, they’re going to want to know about this!

The humble mince pie has been given a boozy upgrade this year thanks to supermarket giant Aldi.

If you’ve not been a fan of shop-bought mince pies in the past, and baking homemade mince pies doesn’t appeal, then these new gin-infused festive treats from Aldi might just be for you.

As well as their classic ranges of mince pies, including popular mini mince pies and their unbelievably affordable luxurious, hand-crafted Specially Selected Exquisite Mince Pies (£2.99 for six), Aldi are launching gin mince pies this year, for all of the gin lovers and drinkers out there.

Hitting the shelves next month, Aldi shoppers will be able to purchase the brand new 'Sloe Gin Mince Tarts' for the first time, as the ultimate boozy start to the festive season.

Hoping to provide 'a very sophisticated alternative to the traditional mince pies', the six pack of pastry tarts are filled with a 'luxurious mincemeat' and a sloe gin filling, finished off with a flaked almond topping.

Described by Aldi as 'a mouthful of seasonal cheer at every bite', we're not the only ones tempted to try the intriguing gin mince pies. 'Gin mince pies. . . Xmas doesn't get much better than this!' wrote one excited shopper after hearing the news, while another added: 'I don't like mince pies, but maybe I do now!'

Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi UK, says: 'At Aldi we know that Christmas hasn't really started until you've had your first mince pie. This year's mince pie offering is better than ever, with more than one different premium flavour for each day of the week.'

You can buy Aldi's Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Tarts at £2.29 for 6. The Sloe Gin mince pies will be available in store from the 14th November. See you in the queue!
