This naughty shortcut saves you time and makes a perfect fondue for guests.


  • Camembert
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Green peppers
  • Grissini
  • Crusty bread (optional)


  • Take a Camembert and remove the wrapping paper from the cheese itself before easing the Camembert back into the bottom half of the wooden box.

  • Place the box on a baking tray and pop into a hot oven 220°C for 10-12 minutes, or until bubbling and runny.

  • While the cheese is cooking, cut up some vegetable sticks – carrots, celery, even green peppers – whatever takes your fancy. Grissini – those Italian breadsticks – are also good.

  • Take the cheese from the oven and allow to cool for a minute or two before putting it in the centre of the table to dip into. You may like to add some crusty bread.
