These iced cookie fingers are a mix between cookies and iced buns. They’re so simple to make and are sweet and delicious too. They’re great for getting kids helping in the kitchen, as they can decorate their own cookies for tea – a great excuse to spend some quality time in the kitchen with your loved ones. You can make different shapes with the cookie dough too – try classic circles, triangles with a cookie cutter, you could even venture stars and hearts too. The possibilities are endless.

Ingredients

  • For the cookies:
  • 150g softened butter
  • 150g icing sugar
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 240g plain flour
  • 1tsp cream of tartar
  • For the glaze:
  • 100g icing sugar
  • 3tsp water
  • Sprinkles to decorate

  • Add the flour to the butter and mix to a thick dough

  • Wrap in cling film and chill for at least 1 hour

  • Remove the dough from the cling film and divide into 20 balls.
