Salty and sweet flavours work surprisingly well together so we thought we’d team them up to make one delicious pancake topping. Quick and easy, we used ready made caramel to make sure these pancakes were ready to eat in next to no time! You can really indulge this Pancake Day by deciding how little, or how much, topping you want – we went for quite a lot! Give it ago and discover just how tasty, and delicious these salted caramel pancakes are to make!
- Tin of ready made caramel
- Fine sea salt
- Vanilla ice cream
Add 1tsp of salt to 4tbsp of caramel and stir together. Add more salt to taste (the flavour will get more intense the longer it’s left to blend so make sure it’s only slightly salty at this stage.)
Make up a batch of pancakes and leave to cool slightly.
Spoon the ice cream and the salted caramel onto the pancake and decorate with pretzels.
