Cut your fruit into strips so they’re easier to dip. Mango and papaya are a great choice along with pineapple too. The coconut and sesame dip is so simple to make and will coat each piece of fruit with a delicious flavour and a crunchy coating that is tasty and moreish. Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • 1 large ripe papaya
  • A few pieces of fresh coconut
  • For the dip:
  • 3tbsps desiccated coconut
  • 2tbsps sesame seeds
  • 1tbsp demerara sugar

Method

  • Make the dip: Put the coconut and sesame seeds in a pan. Heat, stirring, until they brown evenly — watch they don’t burn. Tip into a bowl and stir in sugar.

  • Cut the mango down either side of its stone, cut into strips and peel. Halve and deseed the papaya, cut into strips and peel. Arrange tropical fruits on a platter with the coconut and dip.
