If you’re looking for a refreshing and easy to make dessert recipe then this platter of tropical fruits with sesame coconut dip will be right up your street. Cut your fruit into strips so they’re easier to dip. Mango and papaya are a great choice along with pineapple too. The coconut and sesame dip is so simple to make and will coat each piece of fruit with a delicious flavour and a crunchy coating that is tasty and moreish. If you want to turn this refreshing dish into a naughty treat, coat the fruit in chocolate before dipping into the sesame coconut dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • 1 large ripe papaya
  • A few pieces of fresh coconut

For the dip:

  • 3tbsps desiccated coconut
  • 2tbsps sesame seeds
  • 1tbsp demerara sugar

Method

  1. Make the dip: Put the coconut and sesame seeds in a pan. Heat, stirring, until they brown evenly — watch they don’t burn. Tip into a bowl and stir in sugar.
  2. Cut the mango down either side of its stone, cut into strips and peel. Halve and deseed the papaya, cut into strips and peel. Arrange tropical fruits on a platter with the coconut and dip.
